The dynamic branch of Junior Chamber International (JCI), JCI Culture, successfully reached Spain by covering 3,900 kilometers within the scope of the “Road to Europe” international project. The project, launched from Istanbul on April 25th with the slogan “Europe Starts from Turkey,” had the main goal of reaching the JCI European Conference held in Malaga this year.
This cross-border road trip, which included important European centers like Amsterdam on its route, was realized with the aim of strengthening communication among civil societies and reinforcing international friendships on a sincere ground. Taking its place at the JCI European Conference held in Malaga between April 29 and May 2—the ultimate goal of the journey—the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Culture delegation established a permanent and strong communication network with participants from across the continent.
Strong Connections and New Partnerships
Ramazan Kurt, Vice President in Charge of the Project, summarized the operation’s goal with these words: “Our primary aim in our Road to Europe project was to reach the European Conference held in Malaga this year by road, tracing the footsteps of civil society across the continent. In this process stretching from Istanbul to Malaga with our ‘Europe Starts from Turkey’ vision, we both kept our team’s motivation at the highest level and took a proactive and bold step where young leaders touched the heart of Europe.”
Europe Starts from Turkey
Sharing the pride of reaching their goals at the European Conference in Malaga, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Culture President Ufuk Can Ay drew attention to the importance of international solidarity: “By representing our country in the best possible way at this grand organization, which was our main target, we shared our projects with the European network. As young leaders, establishing such a strong and sincere connection in Europe and feeling the border-removing impact of civil society in the international arena is a great source of pride for us. I wholeheartedly thank all our supporters who believed in our vision in this long adventure and stood by us with their sponsorships and donations before we set off. Thanks to their contributions, we carried not only ourselves but also the names of our supporters to the roads of Europe.”
Having successfully reached its main goal with the “Road to Europe” project that attracted attention across Europe, JCI Culture is getting ready to transfer the international vision gained from this journey to brand new development-oriented projects in the upcoming period.
